The representation of Cyprus Professional Engineers in FEANI was helmed initially, a few years ago, by the first two Engineering Associations that were introduced after the independence of Cyprus, the Cyprus Professional Engineers’ Association (CPEA) and the Cyprus Civil Engineers and Architects Association (CCEAA).
Following the discussions held between the Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) and the two abovementioned professional Engineering Associations, aiming at the best representation of Cyprus internationally, it was agreed that ETEK will assume the representation of Cyprus in FEANI. Furthermore, ETEK, CPEA and CCEAA, decided to restructure the Cyprus National FEANI Committee so as to consist of 8 members, 4 representatives of ETEK, 2 of the Cyprus Professional Engineers’ Association (CPEA) and 2 of the Cyprus Civil Engineers’ and Architects’ Association (CCEAA).
ETEK is the statutory Technical Advisor to the State of Cyprus and is the umbrella organization for all engineers in Cyprus. It was established by Law 224/1990 and is a Public Law Body with an elected Governing Body. The practice of the Engineering Profession in Cyprus and the use of the relevant titles are limited to people who register with ETEK.
The Cyprus Professional Engineers' Association (CPEA) and the Cyprus Civil Engineers and Architects Association (CCEAA) are the main professional bodies in the engineering field mainly civil, electrical, electronic, mechanical, chemical and Architecture.
