The Technical Chamber of Greece is an institution functioning under public law nr. 1486/86. The TCG is by law the Technical Consultant of the state and the corporate body of all qualified engineers in Greece. The Technical Chamber of Greece is keeping the Register of all qualified engineers in Greece. The registration to the Technical Chamber of Greece is a prerequisite in order to practise the engineering profession in Greece.

The other six Associations of engineers are independent institutions. All engineer members of these Associations are registered to the Technical Chamber of Greece. These Associations have an important activity in professional and scientific issues of the specialisation they represent.
