The Cyprus Professional Engineers' Association (CPEA) and the Cyprus Civil Engineers and Architects Association are the main professional bodies in the engineering field mainly civil, electrical, electronic, mechanical, chemical and Architecture.

Together but also separately the two Associations represent their Members in many official Government Committees such as Education, Standards, Environment, Safety at work, Architectural and/or Engineering Competitions.

The President of the CPEA in his official capacity is a Member of the Board of the Cyprus Standards Organisation, having been appointed by the President of the Republic, whilst a representative of the Association is a Member of the Board of Governors of the Higher Technical Institute, the highest tertiary engineering school in Cyprus, having been appointed by the council of Ministers. Furthermore, the Association is also member of the Ministry of Education Committee on Secondary and Technical/Vocational Education.

With the establishment of the Technical Chamber of Cyprus the foreign representation of the engineering profession was left, for the time being, to the appropriate professional Associations. There is, therefore, no conflict of interest between the Technical Chamber and the Associations.
